Digital Health Week 2016: A Conversation with Canadians

During Digital Health Week 2016 (November 14-20), Canadians joined the Better Health Together community of Supporting Organizations for a conversation about digital health. Throughout the week, clinicians, patients, caregivers, governments, associations and industry came together to #ThinkDigitalHealth.


Digital Health Week Forum 2016

As part of Digital Health Week 2016 (November 14-20), the Better Health Together supporting organizations, Friends of Digital Health Week and patient partners came together at the first-ever Digital Health Week Forum to examine how digital health technology is being used by Canadians and their health care providers, to help shape a healthier future.

All Canadians were invited to join the conversation about digital health to inform digital health in Canada and support Canadians in moving from patients to partners in managing their health. Participants joined the presentation through a webcast sponsored by Orion Health, and virtually through the Digital Health Week hashtag – #ThinkDigitalHealth.

The 2016 Digital Health Week Forum meet all five criteria of Patients Included . As part of this commitment, through a Canada Health Infoway ImagineNation Challenge, five patients from across Canada attended the Digital Health Week Forum as award recipients of the Engaged Patient Challenge.

Digital Health Week Forum: State of Digital Health Presentation

The way health care is delivered in Canada has dramatically changed in recent years, enabled by the growth in digital health. In this presentation, Shelagh Maloney, Vice President Consumer Health, Communications and Evaluation Services, Canada Health Infoway, provides a big picture view of how digital health is at work for Canadians. While much has been achieved, there is still more to be done to realize the vision of healthier Canadians through innovative digital health solutions. To provide a look to the future and what it will take to get there, Shelagh highlights some of the transformational changes that have been made as well as emerging trends.

2016 Infoway Partnership Conference

2016 Infoway Partnership Conference: A Conversation About Digital Health, is an annual event that took place during Digital Health Week 2016 and focussed on three areas: medication management, interoperability and consumer health solutions. The Conference is designed to create a forum for knowledge exchange, debate and discussion. Conference proceedings, including leadership session presentations, are available.
